Jordanna's Grade 12 Grad Dress

Jordanna is Antigoni’s God Niece.

Antigoni has loved her since the day she was born, and as soon as she saw her she said to Dagmar (Jordanna’s Mother) “I’m going to make her Grad Dress”. Fast forward 17 years and here we are. Jordanna wanted something special, and we had many appointments together as well as fittings to figure out exactly what she wanted.

At first Jordanna wasn’t sure if she wanted colour. She is a successful Gymnast and is always wearing beautiful coloured and jewelled pieces when she competes; but Jordanna also loved the colour black. That got us thinking, we could definitely do black we could add different textures and applications to make this one of the most beautiful black dress we have ever created.

There was a bit of controversy over going with an all-black dress but we weren’t worried in the slightest. That was Jordanna’s choice and we were going to run with it.

We spent months working on this dress, getting the fit just right. We sourced fabrics, laces and crystals and found the perfect mix to make this a one of a kind dress.

The skirt and upper bodice are made from 100% 4 ply Silk Crepe. The under bodice is made from Corset Organza mesh, and structured with Spiral Steel Boning. We used a lace to accent the bodice. Hand cut, hand placed, and Hand sewn. Finally, we completed the dress with Jet Black Swarovski Crystals delicately placed on the lace to add a bit of sparkle.

This was a labour of love, and we are so happy with how it turned out. She was stunning! We hope Jordanna with all the best in her future endeavours.
